Blaine Derby Block Party & Spring Auction

We are so excited to officially announce the 2026 Catharine Blaine K-8 Spring Auction Block Party, a Kentucky Derby-themed street celebration you won't want to miss.

This is one of our school's biggest fundraisers and every donation, host, and sponsor helps us reach our goal of funding staffing, classroom resources, enrichment programs, and more for our kids.

Here's how YOU can get involved:

🏇 DONATE — Sports tickets, vacation rentals, gift cards, handmade items, and anything in between are welcome.

🌹 HOST — Offer to host a Back-to-School Brunch, Parents Night Out, Grade Level Party, or another fun experience for the community.

⭐️ SPONSOR — Both families and businesses are welcome to sponsor. It's a great way to show your support and get recognized at the event.

We will also teature updates on Magnolia parks projects with Friends of Discovery Park, along with City Council updates from the offices of Councilmembers Bob Kettle and Dan Strauss.

The event is free. Tickets available for purchase to be used for:

Photo booth, glow accessories, drinks, pizza, and more snacks

5 tickets for $5

Square and Cash will be accepted

All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We’re excited to share that tickets are now available for a fun, high-energy outing with the Harlem Globetrotters!

📍 Where: Climate Pledge Arena

📅 When: Sunday, February 1 at 3PM

🎟️ Cost: $60 per ticket (includes tax)

Why go as a Blaine group?

  • $15+ from each ticket goes directly to Blaine PTA funds

  • If we sell 40 tickets, Blaine students will get to line up in the player tunnel after halftime and high-five the players! 🙌

  • Tickets purchased through the QR code will be collected and purchased as a group, so all Blaine families sit together

  • Tickets will be transferred the day before the game

Blaine thrives because of you, our engaged, caring community. Your support keeps our programs strong and our kids inspired! We are proud to be stronger than ever and we invite you to Keep Our Magic Alive for our Annual giving Campaign!

This year, our goal is to raise $350/student and here is how that breaks down:

EDUCATION = $269

  • Staffing (Middle School Choir, Office Assistant, Recess/Lunch Supervisor, Health Room Support, Education Intervention Specialist): $214

  • Curriculum + Teacher Discretionary + Mini Grants: $29

  • Music + PE + Electives: $11

  • Library/Books: $8

  • Art + Garden Docent Programs: $4

  • Advocacy: $3

KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON = $45

  • Non-Profit Admin Expenses: $24

  • Facilities + Other: $21

COMMUNITY BUILDING = $38

  • Scholarships, Recognition, Class Trip Support: $27

  • Events = $11
